GANG crime squad detectives have charged 18 patched Bandidos outlaw motorcycle gang members and seized their motorcycles after a traffic incident in Baldivis on January 16.

About 5.25pm, police received reports of a big group of outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members gathered at a service station on Safety Bay Rd.

WA Police said significant police resources, including police air wing quickly attended the area.

Police air wing captured the motorcyclists allegedly travelling in convoy, riding recklessly northbound on Kwinana Fwy.

Ground units activated their emergency lights and sirens but police will allege the motorcyclists failed to stop and continued travelling at excessive speed.

It will be further alleged that during the incident, two motorcyclists obstructed police officers by blocking ground units, to assist the rest of the convoy to speed away.

A short time later, police stopped traffic on Kwinana Fwy near Millar Rd, causing the entire convoy to come to a halt.

A 41-year-old Lynwood man, a 44-year-old Meadow Springs man, a 36-year-old Warnbro man, a 42-year-old Aubin Grove man, a 46-year-old Baldivis man, a 42-year-old Rockingham man, a 56-year-old Two Rocks man,  a 41-year-old Cloverdale man, a 47-year-old Aveley man, a 28-year-old Forrestdale man, a 26-year-old Byford man, a 32-year-old South Lake man, a 33-year-old Glen Iris man, a 43-year-old Jane Brook man, a 33-year-old Oakford man, a 34-year-old Dawesville man, a 31-year-old Treeby man and a 31-year-old Baldivis man  were all charged with one count of reckless driving to escape pursuit by police and one count of failing to comply with a direction to stop.

Two men – aged 44 and 41 – were also charged with one count each of obstructing public officers.

Three male occupants of a white Holden Caprice sedan were issued dispersal notices.

One other motorcyclist was issued a traffic infringement.

The charged men are due to appear in court between January 28 and February 9.

A police spokesman said the investigation remains ongoing.
