Boy missing from Yanchep beach reunited with his family the same day

A BOY who went missing from Yanchep beach on the weekend was reunited with his family the same day.

At 3.30pm on Sunday, December 10 WA Police said they were searching for a 12-year-old boy, who had become separated from his mother while at the beach in Yanchep.

Text messages were sent to mobiles in the Yanchep area at 3.57pm saying the 12-year-old had last been seen at Yanchep beach at 10am.

A police spokesman said at 5.05pm the search was continuing and included an area around Oldham Park after a potential sighting was reported by a member of the public.

By 5.49pm the boy had been found and was being reunited with his family.
