THE City of Wanneroo is considering options and preparing concept designs for a footpath to the bus stop on Two Rocks Rd near the Yanchep Beach Rd intersection.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Tracey Roberts said the city was committed to improving accessibility for the community and that all concept designs would take into consideration community members with a disability.

PTA spokesman David Hynes said the bus stop on Two Rocks Rd near the Yanchep Beach Rd intersection, which is close to the Bethanie aged care facility, had been installed in September 2012.

Mr Hynes said on an average weekday there were just fewer than four boardings at stop 26477 and four alightings at stop 26480.

“A community request forwarded to the PTA from the City of Wanneroo prompted the upgrade to the boarding area to a concreted bus stop,’’ he said.

Cr Roberts said the city received a community request and forwarded the feedback to the PTA to consider.

“We are pleased that the PTA quickly took action,’’ she said.

Meanwhile, Mr Hynes said Transperth routes 490 and 491 use the new bus stop on Yanchep Beach Rd just west of the Marmion Ave and Yanchep Beach Rd roundabout.
