A BUSHFIRE advice issued for people travelling on Indian Ocean Dr near Yanchep National Park has been cancelled.

The bushfire started near the main entrance road to Yanchep National Park and authorities said the cause of the bushfire was suspicious.

But just before 11am a second alert said the bushfire was no longer affecting the community but firefighters would monitor the area for the rest of the day.

The first alert issued by the Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions at 10.09am on Saturday, April 27 said the bushfire was reported at 9.07am.

The Parks and Wildlife Service is managing the bushfire, which resulted in a lot of smoke in the area.

People are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
