Butler man among those charged after serious assault

A BUTLER man is due to appear in court next month along with two other men after a serious assault in West Perth this morning.

The 20-year-old Butler man has been charged with carrying a controlled weapon.

WA Police said about 2.05am officers responded to a report of people fighting with weapons outside a restaurant in Outram St, West Perth.

A police spokeswoman said one man had received a wound in the abdomen and was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment but his injuries were not life-threatening.

Three men have been charged as a result of the disturbance including a 22-year-old Kensington man who was charged with being armed in a way that may cause fear and being armed in or near place of public entertainment.

The third man a 21-year-old of Nollamara has been charged with being armed in or near place of public entertainment.

The three men are due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 27.

The spokesman said the investigation into the wounding was continuing.
