
THE out-of-hours works affecting residents from Butler station to Romeo Rd will continue until the end of October, according to Metronet.
The works section on the Metronet website says standard work hours are 7am to 7pm Monday to Saturday but from early-September until late-October in relation to earth, retaining wall and bridge works there will be an increase in noise and vibration during the hours of 7pm to 5am Monday to Saturday and from 7am to 5pm on Sundays.
Until late-2023, there will be an increase in noise and dust during works to build retaining walls between Butler Station and Howden Parade.
Until late-2023, there will be a possible increase in noise and vibration as material is excavated and transported from site to reduce the ground to rail level in the corridor from Butler station to Howden Pde – trucks will use local roads to access site.
Until late-2023 from 6am to 7am Monday to Saturday, and 7am to 5pm Sundays, water carts will operate to mitigate dust from Butler station to Romeo Rd.
Until late-2023 there will be occasional concrete pours from 4am to build retaining walls and bridges.
A Metronet spokeswoman said the out-of-hours works from September 5 to October 31 was taking place to prepare the corridor for rail installation and to conduct concrete works. “Affected residents along the corridor from Butler station to Romeo Rd have been notified with a works notification that details the nature of the works, when they will happen and what to expect during the works period,’’ she said.
“These works will not affect commuters as train services to and from Butler station will operate as scheduled.’’
There will also be ongoing lane closures during noise wall construction works.
Chesham Rise and Charlbury Dr northbound lanes will be closed to build retaining and noise walls.
Traffic will be one-way southbound, with left-turns only permitted onto the thoroughfare.
Until late-2023, there will be a possible increase in noise and vibration on Duerden and Werner streets.
There will be lane closures with impacted street parking, while water carts and street sweepers operate to manage dust.
Until late-2023, there will be an increase in noise during works on Chesham Rise, between Cheadle and Jeresh lanes, and Charlbury Dr, between Manly Way and Doncaster Grange, to build noise walls.
Sections of Chesham Rise and Charlbury Dr will close intermittently with traffic management in place.
Until late-September, there will be an increase in noise and vibration on Santorini Prm between Chico Link and Missingham Ave with footpath detours and single lane closures in place for bridge and footpath works.
There are also out-of-hours works being carried out from Romeo Rd to Shorehaven.
The spokeswoman said there were other ongoing out-of-hours works across the project which could affect nearby residents living close to the rail corridor.
Prior to each of these works periods, a works notification was distributed to affected residents.
