Travellers can take a break at the Driver Reviver van, which will be at one of the rest areas on Indian Ocean Dr on Monday, June 7.

ON Monday travellers can stop to take a break and get a free cuppa at the Driver Reviver van on Indian Ocean Dr.

The Driver Reviver van will be located in the rest area between the Military Rd and Indian Ocean Dr intersection in Wilbinga and the northern boundary of the City of Wanneroo.

According to the RoadWise website volunteers will man the van from 8.30am to 4.30pm.

The Driver Reviver van is also due to be at the Gingin Information Bay on Brand Hwy 3.5km north of Dewars Rd on July 2, July 9 and July 16 from 11am to 3pm before returning to the Wilbinga location on Monday, September 27.

In WA, Driver Reviver is managed by WALGA’s RoadWise and overseen by a reference group consisting of representatives from Main Roads WA, the WA Police Force and the Road Safety Commission.

The RoadWise website says Driver Reviver in Western Australia started over the Christmas period in 1992 at Southern Cross and has grown to involve 21 locations throughout the state.

The locations generally operate during public and school holidays and long weekends. Volunteers man each stop, donating their time to provide motorists with an opportunity to contribute to road safety by addressing driver fatigue.
