KRISTIAN Lewis from Yanchep Fire and Rescue Service was among the emergency services volunteers recognised for service to the community at the 2019 City of Wanneroo emergency services volunteer appreciation dinner.

At the dinner held on Friday, June 21 awards were also presented to Debbie and Mark Leyland from Two Rocks Volunteer Marine Rescue, Rob Smart from Wanneroo Joondalup SES and Bill Street from the city’s Driver Reviver program.
Volunteers from Two Rocks Marine Rescue, Two Rocks SES, Wanneroo/Joondalup SES, Yanchep Fire and Rescue Service, Driver Reviver volunteers and representatives from Alkimos, Quinns Mindarie and Yanchep surf lifesaving clubs were all acknowledged for their efforts and contributions made to the city and its residents.

Mayor Tracey Roberts said the city was incredibly proud of its volunteers and hosted the appreciation dinner as a way of thanking each and every one of them for their dedication and contribution to the community.

Cr Roberts said during the past year volunteers had donated more than 15,000 hours of their time responding to incidents, patrolling beaches and oceans, conducting searches, refining their skills through training and supporting state government emergency agencies.
