
WATCH the West Perth Falcons take on the Subiaco Lions in Yanchep on Saturday, June 24 in the last game of the 2023 WAFLW home and away season.
The free family fun day at Splendid Park includes a range of activities, markets stalls and food and drink options to enjoy.
West Perth Football Club WAFLW development head Luke Richardson said the event was an opportunity to bring the community together for an inclusive footy and family fun day that mixed community football with elite WAFLW performances.
“The West Perth Football Club is excited to be showcasing it’s WAFLW talent on the road in one of the fastest growing communities in Perth,” he said.
“This is a great connection piece for our club and allows us to engage with the future football leaders and young stars.”
City of Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken said she was proud to see the city support women in sport, from local juniors to professional athletes.
“With more than 100,000 females living in the City of Wanneroo, we want to provide as many opportunities as possible to recognise the sporting talents of local girls and women,” she said.
“This special community day showcases some of WA’s best female footy players and highlights the work our of local grassroots clubs, helping girls get involved in sport a young age.
“With something for everyone, including free activities for kids, a DJ, indoor markets and a barbecue, it’s set to be an awesome community celebration of women in football, and I hope to see a great turnout at Splendid Park.”
The event runs from 11am to 2pm with bouncedown at noon.
