INTERESTED in learning about bees or needing a Whitecard for your job?

Yanchep Institute (RTO no 52780) is a local Registered Training Organisation offering the nationally accredited AHCSS00075 Basic Beekeeping Skill Set and CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry (Whitecard).

The Basic Beekeeping Skill Set provides you with the basic skills and knowledge required to operate a beehive or small apiary.

Topics include opening and reassembling a beehive, using a bee smoker, maintaining your hive, manipulating honey bee brood, removing honey crop and managing pests and disease.

Yanchep Institute is also offering a short four hour Beekeeping Workshop on Saturday, November 21 covering the different types of bees, pest and diseases, licencing and regulations and the tools and equipment required to manage a beehive.

The cost of the workshop is $50.

Be sure to book your place as spots are limited.

You can purchase your ticket at https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/basic-beekeeping-workshop-tickets-124953799177 or call or email Yanchep Institute.

Due to the current Covid-19 situation, participants in the Beekeeping Workshop will have to provide their own personal protective equipment (gloves, bee veils and suits) and wear enclosed shoes.

The Whitecard is a requirement for anyone undertaking construction work at a workplace. This is the construction induction certificate required under the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996.

Yanchep Institute offers a face-to-face four to six hour course on completion of which the student will receive a Statement of Attainment and the WorkSafe Construction Induction Training card (the Whitecard).

Jobs in the construction industry that require a Whitecard include the construction, erection, installation, alteration, repair, maintenance, cleaning, painting, renewal, removal, excavation, dismantling or demolition of, or addition to, any building or structure, or any work in connection with any of those things, that is done at or adjacent to the place where the building or structure is located.
