MUCHEA trainer Fenella Martin says Overthought is more than capable of a win in the Peninsula Dining Room Handicap (2000m) at Belmont Park tomorrow.
Last Saturday the six-year-old mare was beaten by a short neck in the Glenroy Chaff Handicap (2200m).
Martin said Overthought has won a 2000m before so the shorter distance tomorrow should suit her.
She said Overthought would carry the same weight (56kg) and a similar barrier this start and face a similar level of competition.
The daughter of Trade Fair and She’s My Mak is equal favourite with the Dan Morton-trained Aragain, who has drawn barrier 12.
Jockey Ryan Hill, who will replace Lucy Warwick tomorrow, and Overthought will jump from barrier five.
“She’s quite capable of a win tomorrow,’’ she said.
“She’s toey to get out onto the track but once she gets going she’s fine.
“We might go early to the barrier tomorrow because as soon as she sees all the jockeys walk out she gets a bit silly.’’
