THE Gingin Men’s Shed says it will use grant money to expand its shed and implement new safety management system software.
Gingin Men’s Shed (GMS) president Colin Scott they were establishing the use of another shed which would enable them to expand their workspace and reduce crowding, thereby enabling them to create a safer working environment for members.
Mr Scott said some of the grant money was for the purchase of paint which would be used to renovate the new shed.
“The rest of the grant money is for the purchase of comprehensive software to establish a new work health management system which replaces the current OSH WA safety systems,’’ he said.
“The software will be implemented into both our existing shed and the new shed, helping us to transition from the old to the new safety management system.’’
Pearce MHR Christian Porter said the Gingin Men’s Shed would receive $980 for its Health & Wellbeing & Events: WHS management system and shed improvements and the York Men’s Shed $6500 for a 111 litre water tank (irrigation for garden and firefighting), site prep and freight through the national shed development program.
