THERE were few changes in the 2025 City of Wanneroo local government election held on October 18 for incumbent councillors seeking another four-year term.
Sonet Coetzee did not have a candidate run against her so she was re-elected unopposed for the North ward, which meant ballot papers did not have to be issued for the suburbs of Alkimos, Carabooda, Eglinton, Jindalee, Two Rocks and Yanchep.
Jordan Wright was re-elected to the Central ward, Paul Miles retained his seat in the Central East ward, Helen Berry was re-eletced to the Central West ward, James Rowe retained his seat in the South ward and Bronwyn Smith was successful in her bid to continue representing the North East ward.
There was a change in the South West ward with Natalie Herridge losing to Hugh Nguyen.
The councillors-elect will be sworn in at a ceremony at the Civic Centre on Tuesday, October 28.
A council election for the position of deputy mayor will be held on October 28 at a special council meeting.
