NEW operators are set to take on the IGA supermarket on Brockman St in Gingin.

Yanchep News Online understands the operators of the current IGA are to leave at the end of June-early July with new operators taking over.

The store provides general groceries, deli, bakery, newspapers, magazines and lotto etc.

Some residents have been concerned the Brockman St IGA would close leaving people who don’t drive or do Woolworths or Coles deliveries in the lurch.

Meanwhile, Chris Young  from Sun City Group, which operates the IGA Two Rocks and the Moore River General Store in Guilderton, said building of the new supermarket in the Brookview Gingin estate was expected to start in August or September this year.

Mr Young said the build would take about 12 months and he hoped the new supermarket would be open before Christmas next year.
