Perth and Peel to enter four-day lockdown at midnight

Mr McGowan said borders will be put up around Perth and Peel as has happened in other lockdowns.

PERTH and Peel will enter a full lockdown at midnight for four days at a minimum after a third case of Covid-19 was identified this evening.

At a press conference just after 8pm the Premier Mark McGowan said the third positive case (case 1024) was a man in his 20s.*

While having dinner at Indian Ocean Brewery Co in Mindarie the man had fleeting contact while with the woman (case 1022) who contacted Covid-19 while in Sydney.

Mr McGowan said the two cases were not dining at the same table and did not know each other.

He said contract tracers were still working out where the man had been in the community.

HealthyWA is still updating the list of exposure sites, which tonight includes Surge Clarkson and Core Wealth Financial Planning in Hillarys.

Mr Gowan said would the government work out what compensation could be put in place for businesses in coming weeks.
