
AN all clear advice has been issued for people in an area bounded by Bookine, Chitna and Gingin Brook roads in Neergabby.
The bushfire that was burning near the intersection of Gingin Brook and Cowalla roads has been extinguished.
On Sunday, April 28 at 3.16pm the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said the bushfire advice was still in place and that firefighters would be monitoring the area for the rest of the day and night.
The bushfire was reported at 8.44am on Saturday, April 27.
At 3.32pm on Saturday, April 27 DFES said firefighters were patrolling the area and mopping up.
The bushfire, which started near the intersection of Gingin Brook and Cowalla roads earlier today, has burnt 25ha.
A Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) alert at 10.44am on Saturday, April 27 said the bushfire – the cause of which was suspicious – had burnt 3ha of land.
The advice said there was no immediate danger but residents and motorists needed to be aware and keep up to date in case the situation changed.
WA Police and 30 farmers and bush fire service firefighters were at the bushfire.
The Shire of Gingin is managing the fire.
This morning’s alert said the bushfire was moving slowly in a south westerly direction and it was contained but not controlled.
People are asked to report any suspicious behaviour to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
About 2.30pm a DFES spokeswoman said the department hoped to have an update on the bushfire by 3.30pm.
