An Eglinton woman is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday, December 8.

AN Eglinton woman is one of five prison officers from Hakea Prison charged by the financial crimes squad after an investigation was referred to WA Police by the Corruption and Crime Commission (CCC) and the Department of Justice.

WA Police said it will be alleged that one officer, a 36-year-old man of East Fremantle, assaulted a 34-year-old prisoner at Hakea on November 12, 2018.

A WA Police spokeswoman said the officer, along with four others, then allegedly made false entries in official records to conceal his conduct.
