
JOONDALUP detectives have charged a 38-year-old Quinns Rock man in relation to a stolen motor vehicle incident on Tuesday, June 23.
He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today Wednesday, June 24.
WA Police said it would be alleged that between 3pm and 4.15pm yesterday the man went to a leisure centre on Whitfords Ave in Craigie, where he stole car keys from a locker.
A police spokesman said it would also be alleged the man stole the vehicle – a Holden Colorado utility – and drove in a reckless manner.
The vehicle was later located by police in a shopping centre carpark on Wanneroo Rd in Wanneroo and the man was apprehended at the scene.
“Investigators will further allege the man committed several other offences since June 11 including burglary and stealing offences at retail stores, as well as an assault on a woman known to him,’’ he said.
The Quinns Rock man has been charged with six counts of stealing, three counts of gains benefit by fraud, one count of burglary and commit on a place, one count of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of (attempt to) gains benefit by fraud and one count of common assault in circumstances of aggravation or racial aggravation.
