THE Remembrance Day service commemorative address on Tuesday, November 11 will be presented by Yanchep Two Rocks RSL president Bill Jones.

The service will be supported by the executive committee and members of the sub-branch and include flag raising, The Ode, Last Post and Reveille and wreath-laying.

Yanchep Two Rocks RSL says it has been selling poppies in the lead-up to Remembrance Day with every poppy worn honouring “the brave men and women who served and sacrificed for our freedom”.

For Remembrance Day services, the memorial garden is adorned with poppies.

The first poppies were sold in the streets of London on Armistice Day 1921.

The poppy is a reminder of the battlefields of Flanders where the small red flower grew.
