POLICE are seeking information after shots were fired in the Mindarie marina carpark about 7.45pm yesterday.
WA Police said an orange-coloured Mustang and a white coloured utility were in the Mindarie marina carpark when the occupants left the vehicles and fired at each other before returning to their vehicles and fleeing the scene.
Police Commissioner Chris Dawson told 6PR police believed a small calibre firearm and a shotgun had been involved.
A police spokeswoman said it did not appear as though anyone was injured in the incident.
“About 1.35am, the Mustang was sighted by police in Kingsway,’’ she said.
“Police followed the vehicle but lost sight of it on Hepburn Ave.
“The Mustang was located crashed into a wall on the corner of Archer St and Goundrey Dr in Pearsall.
“The occupant(s) of the Mustang had fled the vehicle prior to police arriving.’’
Police officers as well as officers from the canine unit searched the area but did not locate the offender.
Although gang crime squad detectives are investigating the incident links to any outlaw motorcycle gangs have not been established at this time.
