LINDA Aitken has nominated for preselection for the Liberal candidate for Pearce after Christian Porter’s decision to not run in the next federal election.
Last year Mrs Aitken unsuccessfully ran as the Liberal’s candidate for Butler against Western Australia’s Attorney General John Quigley.
Mrs Atiken, who is a City of Wanneroo councillor representing the North-East ward, is also an operating theatre nurse.
It was reported last week that Libby Lyons would not nominate to contest the seat but that Miquela Riley, who unsuccessfully ran for the seat of Fremantle in the state election, would nominate for preselection.
Mr Porter resigned last week after a tumultuous year during which a historical rape allegation, which he strenuously denies, surfaced.
