NO miracles arrived to save the Yanchep Redhawks as Warwick cruised to a win on Saturday at Splendid Park.
On a hot sunny day Yanchep were going to have to be clinical to have any hope of stopping Warwick chasing down the remaining 49 runs.
Unfortunately the Redhawks were sloppy in the field dropping several chances as Warwick lost only one more wicket before easing past the target of 107.
It went from bad to worse for Yanchep as their keeper Sam Wilton was ill and had to leave the field leaving them a man down as Warwick attacked after passing the total.
Warwick pushed on quickly with batter Eric McFarland taking a liking to the spinners hitting through cow corner on multiple occasions on his way to 38.
Yanchep battled using nine bowlers throughout the innings but found it hard to make regular inroads as Warwick batted long with all batsmen from four to nine passing 20.
Kasey Bond (32) backed up his fine bowling performance last week with some sumptuous stroke play while Jamie Bennet topped scored with 52 as Warwick ended on 8-260 before declaring.
Kevin Hall and Chriag Karson put in big shifts for Yanchep bowling 17 overs a piece at an economy of under three while Sajan Karson had the best figures of 3-25 off eight.
The declaration left a tricky period for Yanchep to survive to avoid an outright loss.
But the Redhawks did not fold in the second innings as they put in their best batting performance of the season thanks to an unbeaten 92 from opener Sam Christie.
Christie attacked all around the ground as he got Yanchep to 1-115 off 19 overs with only time preventing what would have surely been a fantastic hundred.
Yanchep face Wanneroo next week in another two-day game at the Wanneroo Showgrounds.
