Woodridge fire deemed suspicious

A FIRE in Woodridge on Sunday, February 26, which caused significant damage to a house, shed and vehicles, is being treated as suspicious with Northam detectives calling for information from the public.

About 8.35am the Department of Fire and Emergency Services notified WA Police they were attending a fire at a residence on Woolly Bush Loop.

Lancelin Police attended the scene.

A WA Police spokesman said while the house was gutted by the fire and four vehicles were destroyed, the two adults and three children who were inside the house were able to escape unharmed.

“At this time the fire is being treated as suspicious and Northam Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the cause of the fire,’’ he said.

Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious people or vehicles in the area about the time of the fire.
