A YOUNG Yanchep boy has raised money for a cat rescue by taking part in the 2025 HBF run for a reason.
His mother Shannon Lancaster said taking part in the event allowed her son to raise $643 for Deedlebug Cat Rescue.
“And he loved it so much that he plans to do the 12km next year,’’ she said.
“His favourite part was seeing such a huge puddle that it looked like the ocean (because it was raining so much).
“He also says he loves fostering for Deedlebug and taking care of the cats and kittens because ‘I have a big heart and they’re so cute’.’’
Deedlebug Cat Rescue foster carer coordinator Sharon Baker said they affectionately called Felix the kitten whisperer, because he had an incredible gift for helping them tame the shy and scared kittens.
“His gentle nature and patience have made a huge difference in the lives of many of our rescues,’’ she said.
