Alkimos Eglinton area records highest migration level in Perth market

THE Alkimos Eglinton area has jumped up the ranks of popular Australian migration hot spots from 39th to 25th spot.

CoreLogic head of research Eliza Owen said the Alkimos Eglinton area in Perth’s north had the highest total migration of any market in Perth in the 2022-2023 financial year.

“This was comprised mostly of internal migration (75 per cent), but also a decent uplift in net overseas migration,’’ she said.

In the 2022-2023 financial year 1530 people migrated to the Alkimos Eglinton area made up of internal migration of 1148 and overseas migration of 382 with internal migration defined as movement from one part of Australia to another and overseas migration as arrivals and departures between Australia and other countries.

“This coastal region is towards the northern fringe of Greater Perth, offering an exceptional combination of lifestyle and affordability with a median dwelling value of $511,000 at June last year.’’

During the 2022-2023 financial year the median rent was $568 in the Alkimos Eglinton area.
