ON April 25 the Yanchep Anzac Day dawn service organised by the Yanchep Two Rocks RSL will be gathering at Yanchep National Park at 5.30am for a 6am start followed by a gunfire breakfast.

The main service also held at the national park will be gathering at 10.30am for a 11am start.

The City of Wanneroo is supporting the Anzac Day services in Yanchep as well as services in Wanneroo and Quinns Rocks.

Wanneroo RSL is holding a dawn service at 5.50am at Wanneroo Memorial Park followed by a march.

Quinns Rocks RSL is holding a dawn service at Quinns Rocks Sports Club followed by a gunfire breakfast – 5.45am for a 6am start.

The services aim to honour Australian and New Zealand service men and women who served in World War I and the conflicts that followed.

City of Wanneroo Mayor Linda Aitken said she was proud the city could support services and encouraged the community to attend to pay their respects.

“Anzac Day plays a significant role in Wanneroo’s history and I thank our wonderful RSL sub-branches for honouring service men and women,” she said.

“The Wanneroo district was far from Europe, but this did not shield our tiny community of 300 people from the horrors of World War I.

“It’s important we reflect on the sacrifices defence personnel have made and continue to make for our community.”
