ARSON squad detectives are investigating a bushfire in Yanchep yesterday, which put the are bounded by Yanchep Beach Rd, Marmion Ave, Brazier Rd and Flagtail Outlook under watch and act.
Today WA Police said about 2.10pm yesterday police were notified of a scrub fire in bushland area between Marmion Ave and Lagoon Dr.
“Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) attended the area and extinguished the blaze,’’ the police spokesman said.
“Arson squad detectives commenced an investigation, and it will be alleged a juvenile male attended the area and lit the fire.
“He was issued a juvenile caution.’’
DFES said the bushfire, which was reported at 1.54pm, burnt about 2ha.
During the incident a number of roads had been closed including Lagoon Dr between Primary Rd and Flagtail Outlook, St Ives Dr and Newlyn Pl.
