THERE is a bushfire advice in place for people travelling along Military Rd near Yeal Nature Reserve and the Gravity Discovery Centre in Yeal in the Shire of Gingin.

Parks and Wildlife Service at the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions is managing the bushfire, which started near the intersection of Wapet Rd and Cockatoo Rd in Yeal.

The alert at 1.4pm said firefighters are on the scene, actively fighting the uncontained and uncontrolled bushfire and that aerial support had been sent to assist ground crews.

Motorists travelling between Yanchep in the City of Wanneroo and the town of Gingin often turn off Indian Ocean Dr onto Military Rd, which intersects with Gingin Brook Rd to reduce travel time between the two centres.
