Covid-19 case confirmed at Yanchep Secondary College

THE Department of Education has confirmed that a Covid-19 case has been detected at Yanchep Secondary College.

Yanchep News Online understands the person who is positive attended the college on Tuesday, February 15 to Thursday February 17 while infectious but that no students have been identified as being close contacts.

The Department of Health also confirmed it is working with the school on a positive case.

A total of 229 new Covid-19 cases in WA were reported to 8pm last night.

Of these, 222 were local and seven travel-related cases.

The increase bring the state’s total number of active Covid-19 cases to 1044.

There are currently two people in hospital and none in ICU.

Today’s cases include 11 self-reported positive RATs.

WA has recorded 3358 cases since the Covid-19 pandemic began.

To date, 2304 people have recovered from the virus.

Anyone in the Perth, Peel, Wheatbelt, Pilbara and South West regions – experiencing symptoms should get tested immediately and isolate until they receive a negative result.

This applies to anyone symptomatic – even if you have not visited a listed exposure site.

WA Health’s contact tracing team continues to identify high risk exposure sites linked to new cases.

People who receive a text message from WA Health advising they have attended an exposure site must follow the instructions, even if the site is not listed on HealthyWA
