2918
The first in a series of monthly workshops about honey bees to run at the Yanchep Institute will be held on Monday, March 9.

WORKSHOPS to keep honey bee enthusiasts up to date with the research being undertaken by the Cooperative Research Centre for Honey Bee Products will be held in Yanchep starting on Monday, March 9.

Cooperative Research Centre for Honey Bee Products (CRCHBP) chief executive officer Liz Barbour said the meetings used to be held ‘in house’ but have been opened up to interested parties.

“The CRC has over 30 projects running with a wide skill-range of scientists involved that are now experts in their research area,’’ she said.

“We would like to extend the discussion to beekeepers, gardeners, horticulturalists for their pollination and food production so they can share their experiences.”

The first talk is on Mapping flora to honey and is by Associate Professor Bryan Boruff from the University of Western Australia.

He is an environmental geographer.

The workshop will be held at Yanchep Institute, 128 Yanchep Beach Rd, Yanchep.
