FIRE investigators have established the cause of the Ledge Point bushfire is suspicious with people asked to report any suspect behaviour to Crime Stoppers.

At 7.19pm the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said Western Power had advised that all 477 customers in Ledge Point affected by the bushfire-related outage had had their power restored.

The DFES alert said Western Power crews had repaired a broken crossarm and identified four damaged power poles, which would be scheduled for replacement in coming days.

The bushfire – reported at 1.03am this morning (March 17) – is now contained but Indian Ocean Dr remains closed as crews are working alongside the road, consolidating containment lines.

A bushfire advice remains in place for people in an area bounded by Old Ledge Point Rd, Indian Ocean Dr, Ledge Point Sands Access Rd and the coast in Ledge Point in northern parts of Breton Bay.

Indian Ocean Dr between Seabird Rd and K W Rd is closed while Ledge Point Rd between Indian Ocean Dr and Old Ledge Point Rd closed to returning traffic.
