ABOUT 3.15pm on Sunday, October 20, a Hyundai Elantra was travelling east along Wattle Avenue West in Neerabup when the vehicle left the road and struck a tree, trapping the driver.
WA Police said the driver and sole occupant, a 24-year-old man of Ocean Reef, received critical injuries and died at the scene.
A police spokeswoman said some information, including that the man who died was a 61-year-old, published in The West Australian on Monday, October 21 was incorrect.
Major crash investigators ask anyone who saw the crash or the Hyundai prior to the crash, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
