Despite charging a man with the wilful murder of sarah Spiers this week detectives are still trying to find a white 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon similar to the one pictured above.

WA Police this week charged a man, who on Wednesday, February 28 is due in court over the deaths of two other women, with the wilful murder of Sarah Spiers.

At a special press conference on Thursday, February 22 police commissioner Chris Dawson said Bradley Robert Edwards had been charged following extensive inquiries by the macro investigation team within the cold case homicide squad.

Mr Dawson said when the 49-year-old man appeared in the Stirling Gardens Magistrates Court it will be alleged 18-year-old Ms Spiers was murdered on, or about January 27, 1996, after a night out with friends in Claremont.

So far her body has not been found.

In December 2016 detectives charged Edwards of Kewdale with the murder of Ciara Glennon whose body was found by a man walking in bushland off Pipidinny Rd in Eglinton in April 1997 about a month after she went missing from Claremont.

He was also charged with the murder of Jane Rimmer as well as attacks on two other women, a 17-year-old in Claremont in 1995 and an 18-year-old in Huntingdale in 1988.

Detectives are still trying to find a white 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon similar to the one pictured above.

Earlier this month detective superintendent Rod Wilde from the special crime division said despite the significant passage of time it was still possible the vehicle they wanted to locate could help their investigation.

“We are aware this car was deregistered in 2008, but from that time onwards it is unclear what happened to it,’’ he said.

“It may have been wrecked or abandoned, or could still be in use on a rural property.”

“Even if the vehicle is in pieces we would like the opportunity to examine it.’’

Anyone who has any information about the vehicle is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or leave a report at www.crimestopperswa.com.au
