A NEW Parent Pathways program office on Ocean Keys Boulevard has opened to serve eligible participants from Clarkson, Butler, Joondalup and Yanchep.

Parent Pathways is a voluntary service that provides personalised assistance and financial support to eligible parents and carers of children up to the age of 6 years.

Training Alliance Group (TAG) along with Pearce MHR Tracey Roberts officially opened the Clarkson office on January 24.

According to a TAG statement in late 2024, TAG was awarded the biggest contract in Western Australia for the delivery of the federal government’s Department of Employment and Workplace Relations new Parent Pathways program.

The Clarkson office is the first of 59 TAG Parent Pathways locations across five WA regions to be officially opened, with over 460 participants already engaged in the program across the state.

The statement said the Parent Pathways program offered a flexible and tailored approach to supporting parents, addressing the unique challenges they faced in balancing family life, career and educational advancement and personal development.

“The program is completely voluntary and designed around the family life of each individual participant, empowering parents by providing them with the tools, resources, and community connections necessary to achieve their goals,’’ the statement said.

“Parents are offered professional guidance on activities and training, financial support through the parents fund, assistance with childcare, and job searching – all within a welcoming, child-friendly space.

Pearce MHR Tracey Roberts and Burns Beach MLA Mark Folkard officially opened the Parent Pathways Clarkson office on January 24.

“TAG will work collaboratively with wide range of local community organisations, education providers and housing services when delivering the program, to create a personalised network that truly makes a difference for families across the northern suburbs.’’

TAG Parent Pathways program manager Ellen Brady said after managing the former Parents Next program for more than five years, she had seen firsthand the impact the right support could have on parents.

“I’m thrilled we are launching the new Parent Pathways initiative, which offers a more flexible, personalised approach to provide parents with the support they need to balance family life with achieving their goals,’’ she said.

“The opening of the Clarkson office is a testament to our ongoing commitment to supporting families in their journey toward a brighter future.

“We understand that the challenges parents face can be overwhelming and that’s why we’re here – to offer the guidance and resources families need to navigate these complexities.”

Mrs Roberts said the new Parent Pathways office in Clarkson was a wonderful resource that would provide families with the guidance and opportunities they need to thrive.

“I am always proud to see programs such as this one that focus on empowering our communities, especially parents of little ones, and I know this federal government initiative will make a real difference in helping parents in the northern suburbs build a brighter future for themselves and their children.’’
