A NEW community vaccination clinic where people can get vaccinated against Covid-19 opened in Joondalup today.

Western Australians can get vaccinated seven days a week at the state-run community vaccination clinic located at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre, 420 Joondalup Dr (West Mall between Kmart and Target).

The clinic, which will initially offer the AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine, will be open 9am to 4pm Monday to Saturday and 11am to 4pm on Sundays.

Vaccination bookings are essential and can be made by calling 13 COVID (13 268 43).

There are other community vaccination clinics at Perth Airport in the east, Kwinana in the south and Claremont in the west.

Health Minister Roger Cook said vaccinations were also continuing across regional WA with hospital-based clinics offering vaccinations in the Goldfields, Great Southern, Kimberley, Mid-West, Pilbara, South-West and Wheatbelt.

Covid vaccines can also be accessed via GPs, GP respiratory clinics and Aboriginal Medical Services located throughout regional and metropolitan WA.

Mr Cook said health staff were working hard to ensure as many people as possible who were 50 and over could be vaccinated.

“The state is also continuing to focus on vaccinating priority groups such as frontline healthcare, quarantine, border, high-risk and critical workers, so we remain on the front foot in tackling this pandemic,’’ he said.

The number of vaccinations in WA have now reached 122,069 total vaccinations and 28,338 second doses.
