DURING responsible gambling awareness week Western Australians are being reminded to seek support if they feel their gambling behaviours are affecting their finances, mental health or relationships.

The annual event is aimed at promoting responsible gambling and highlighting the support services available to those experiencing gambling-related harm.

The state government and industry fund the Problem Gambling Helpline 24/7 helpline, online counselling and face-to-face counselling services for those experiencing problems with gambling.

Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia said responsible gambling awareness week provided an opportunity to reflect on healthy gambling practices and start up a conversation if you think a friend or a loved one was experiencing gambling harm and encourage them to seek support.

Anyone concerned about their gambling is urged to seek support by calling the Problem Gambling Helpline on 1800 858 858 or by visiting the Gamble Aware website.
