PEOPLE in an area bounded by Hester Ave to the Mitchell Fwy to Neerabup Rd to Connolly Dr may be affected by smoke or fumes from a rubbish fire in a Neerabup quarry.
Firefighters are on the scene and the Department of Environment and Regulation pollution response unit is providing technical support to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
In an alert at 2.49pm DFES said as a precaution people in the area should remain inside, out of the smoke or fumes, with doors and windows closed.
Air conditioners should also be switched off.
People should stay away from the area.

No roads in the area have been closed.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel.
