THE use of drones to patrol sand dunes in Two Rocks and a video about Crystal Cave in Yanchep National Park were some of the most viewed stories on Yanchep News Online in 2024.

In Wanneroo rangers and WA police use drones to patrol Two Rocks dunes, on October 28 Yanchep News Online reported that WA Police had been assisting and would continue to assist in conducting proactive patrols in Two Rocks using a police-issued drone.

Crystal Cave in Yanchep National Park is about what visitors to the cave can expect to see on a guided tour along with the cave’s dependence on groundwater from the Gnangara mound.

Although only published on December 13, the story and the accompanying video have been well-received by readers.

In the lead-up to the opening of the Yanchep line on July 14, Yanchep line station-access maps released which included graphics showing the roads to take to Yanchep, Eglinton and Alkimos stations, proved popular.

In one of the deadliest year’s on WA’s roads since 2016 fatal accidents in Yanchep and Gingin and surrounding areas have contributed to the state’s road toll.
