STALLHOLDERS at a new market place at the Yanchep shops will rotate every fortnight so there will always be a variety of things available for shoppers.
Yanchep Central Shopping Centre manager Nicola Johnstone said the effect of Covid-19 on retailers and the community had been quite challenging, with many shopping centre and local area events being cancelled.
“With the easing of trading and social distancing restrictions, the Market Place pop-up concept was aimed to attract shoppers and community members back into Yanchep Central and help local vendors re-establish their brand or merchandise,’’ she said.
The Market Place opened on July 16 inside a recently (large and centrally located) vacant tenancy.
“It has already received a lot of interest and positive feedback.”
Market Place will run for at least the next three months, trading weekly Thursday to Friday (from 10am) and Sundays from 11am.
Each week there will be eight to 10 stallholders selling a variety of items, including giftware, crafts, handmade goods, local produce, clothing, trinkets, collectables and art.
Stallholders are rotated every fortnight, so there is always some new thing new to be found.
Sue Dash from Chocolate Drops said it was lovely to see so many residents supporting the pop-up stalls.
