BUSINESS owners can join business mentor John Denton at the Y.hub in August for one of two free workshops to focus on what they need to know and do to grow their business.
Whether you are an aspiring business owner or a seasoned operator looking to revitalise your business, you need the knowledge, tools and motivation to stay on the road to success.
Mr Denton said many small businesses don’t succeed, not because they don’t have a good product or service, or because the owner isn’t committed – it’s because they don’t have a well thought out business plan, or they have a plan but never put it into action.
“But it’s never too late to regain focus and clarity so you have the confidence and motivation to lead your business and achieve the success you deserve to have,’’ he said.
He said the aim of the workshops was for business owners to walk away with the knowledge, inspiration and a template plan for the changes they need to make in their businesses.
During the workshop, business owners will learn about the difference between a business, a practice and carrying out a trade and why this is important.
They will also learn why a product or service needs to be different and how to get noticed, the five essential elements that make a business successful, marketing principles, the importance of knowing your numbers and how to save time, energy, money and stress.
The workshop is fast-paced but Mr Denton will be available afterwards to answer questions.
After a successful career as a salesman and then manager in the corporate world Mr Denton started a leadership and management training business.
He sold this business after a decade and started coaching and mentoring business owners on how to turn their businesses into sale-able assets and in some cases sell them.
Now he also runs a group mentoring program providing business owners with a confidential environment to work on their business, learn new skills, explore new ideas and be kept accountable for working on their business plan.
The first workshop is on Tuesday, August 11 at 9.30am and the second on Monday, August 17 at 5pm.
The tickets for the 90-minute workshops include a day of co-working.
