TRACEY Roberts has won a third term as the Mayor of the City of Wanneroo.
The position of deputy mayor will be decided on Tuesday, October 22 at a special council meeting.
On Saturday, October 19 the Western Australian Electoral Commission (WAEC) confirmed that with a total of 26,973 votes now counted, the WAEC confirmed Mrs Roberts had received the highest number of votes to be re-elected as Mayor.
Mrs Roberts will be sworn in as Mayor on Monday, October 21 along with the following elected councillors: in the North ward – Chris Baker and Nat Sangalli, in the South ward – Brett Treby, Vinh Nguyen and Glynis Parker and in the central ward – Frank Cvitan and Jacqueline Huntley.
The election was conducted by postal voting during September and October with the poll closing at 6pm on October 19.
Local government elections are held every two years.
The mayor and councillors are each elected for four-year terms, with half of the elected members being elected every biennial election.
