
THE cause of a bushfire in Carabooda, which resulted in part of Wanneroo Rd closing, is yet to be determined, according to the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
The bushfire, which was reported yesterday at 5.27pm, started near the intersection of Wanneroo Rd and Bernard Rd North.
At 8.43pm the Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) said the bushfire had been downgraded to an advice as it had been controlled and contained.
In a 3.23am alert DFES said Wanneroo Rd, between Karaborup Rd and Yanchep Beach Rd had reopened.
Seventy career and volunteer firefighters fought the blaze with crews from Two Rocks, Quinns Rocks, Wanneroo, Yanchep, Gingin West and Muchea attending.
