Eglinton men found with drugs, weapons

WA Police caught two Eglinton men with drugs and weapons when their car was searched this week in Butler.

TWO Eglinton men are due in the Joondalup Magistrates Court on Wednesday, December 14 after they police found cannabis and throwing knives in their car.

A WA Police spokeswoman said just after midnight on Thursday, November 17 northern regional operations group officers stopped a vehicle carrying the two 20-year-old men near Butler Blvd on Marmion Ave in Butler.

“During a search of both the occupants and the vehicle, it will be alleged officers located and seized a large sum of cash, a small amount of cannabis and three throwing knives,’’ she said.

“As a result of these items being located, northern regional operations group officers conducted a misuse of drugs search warrant on a residence in Persian St, Eglinton.

During a search of the residence, police will allege they located and seized approximately 21g cocaine, about 270g grams cannabis, a money counting machine, a replica AK47 assault rifle, a gas powered handgun, four bottles of steroids and various drug paraphernalia.

She said the two men have been charged with possessing a prohibited drug (cocaine) with intent to sell/supply, possessing prohibited drug (steroids), having ready access to both weapons and illegal drugs and possessing a controlled weapon.

One man was also charged with possess a prohibited drug (cannabis) with intent to sell/supply.
