HOMICIDE squad detectives are investigating the death of a 57-year-old man following a serious assault in Two Rocks on Friday, August 16.
About 5.15pm, police were called to an address on Whitfield Dr after a report a man had been found with serious injuries in the driveway.
A WA police spokesman said police will be alleging the 57-year-old man was physically assaulted by a 33-year-old man known to him.
The 57-year-old man was conveyed by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment of a serious head injury.
The 33-year-old Two Rocks man fled the area in a grey Mazda hatchback but was later located and arrested by police in Greenwood.
Homicide squad detectives want to hear from anyone who may have seen a grey Mazda hatchback between 5pm and 9pm on Friday, August 16.He was charged with grievous bodily harm and appeared before the Perth Magistrates Court on Saturday, August 17 where he was remanded in custody until his next court date on Monday, October 28.
On Tuesday, August 20 the 57-year-old man died as the result of his injuries.
Homicide squad detectives are now in charge of the investigation and are seeking information from the public in relation to the incident, specifically anyone who may have seen the incident or was in the area of Whitfield Dr, Two Rocks about 5pm on Friday, August 16 or anyone who may have seen a grey Mazda hatchback between 5pm and 9pm the same day.
