KEARA Nel of Alkimos is a member of the Australian team, which recently won gold in the double mini trampoline event in Bulgaria.

Competing in the women’s trampoline GYM world championship final with her Australian teammates Cheyanna Robinson and reigning national champion Carina Hagarty, Nel’s score put the Australians in front.

After her routine a commentator at the finals said Nel had been fourth in the individual competition at the world age group championships in the Sofia, Bulgaria arena in 2017.

“She knows what it’s like to just miss out in this building and that was the performance of somebody who is not letting that happen this time,’’ the commentator said.

Hagarty’s performance then sealed the win for the Australians who were awarded 13 out of a possible 15 points.

The commentator said 23-year-old Nel was an accomplished classical guitarist as well as a terrific snowboarder, skier and skateboarder.

Nel has just started an electrical apprenticeship with the Water Corporation.

“Working for the Water Corporation it’s perfect because of the flexible hours and different types of leave I can use to work around training and competitions,’’ she said.

“Also I work 7am to 4pm so I can easily train after work hours.’’
