Free intellectual property workshop

A free Hybrid 935 workshop on Tuesday, November 22 will teach participants how to make the most of their brand and intellectual property.

INTELLECTUAL property and how it can benefit and add value to your Yanchep business is the subject of a free Hybrid 935 workshop on Tuesday, November 22.

At  the workshop patent and trade mark attorneys Mark Pullen and Carol Kane from Watermark will show business owners how to utilise their brand and intellectual property.

They will also explain to business owners how to leverage their knowledge, which had immense value and real potential to help sustain, grow and future proof their business.

Many business owners don’t really understand the importance of protecting and leveraging off their intellectual property when it comes to their brand, designs and new products and services.

Their informative and practical session will cover identifying your intellectual property, what to protect and why, using intellectual property to create new revenue streams and turning your business knowledge and processes into a commercial product.

They will then draw on business scenarios to illustrate how you can leverage your intellectual property to create a resilient business with the potential to grow and thrive in today’s economy.

Attendees questions will be welcome and they are encourage to share their business challenges and let Mr Pullen and Ms Kane guide them through various solutions.

Mr Pullen works with start-up, emerging and established SME businesses across a range of industries, technologies and brand driven enterprises to help them maximise their awareness and value from their IP (knowledge) assets.

His clients benefit from his broad foundation of industrial experience in mechanical and electrical engineering technologies, including the rail, mining and automotive industries.

He sits on the WA Innovator of the Year Award’s advisory committee and has participated in a number of organising committees and judging panels for state and national small business awards programs.

Ms Kane specialises in intellectual property, with over a decade of experience in securing intellectual property rights and assisting clients in using intellectual property for the benefit of their business.

She is in the final stages of completing an executive MBA at AGSM, bringing the dimension of business strategy to intellectual property management.

In her spare time, she chairs a dog rescue organisation, dedicated to rehoming greyhounds retired from the racing industry.
