Wangara armed robbery charges

FOUR people have been charged by regional investigations unit detectives following their investigation into an armed robbery at a lunch bar in Wangara on Tuesday, August 31.

WA Police allege that about 2.40pm two men and two women went to the lunch bar on Paramount Dr.

During this time one of the men exited the lunch bar and entered a staff-only area via the rear of the building.

He stole a handbag and took it to a Toyota Corolla parked nearby.

He returned to the front of the lunch bar and the group then ran to the vehicle.

Alerted to the missing bag, staff members ran after the group.

It is alleged one of the men pointed a handgun at them before driving away.

A short time later regional investigations unit detectives stopped the Toyota Corolla on Scarborough Beach Rd, Osborne Park where four people were taken into custody.

An imitation handgun was located inside the vehicle.

A 31-year-old man from Kensington has been charged with aggravated armed robbery, giving false personal details to police, seven counts of stealing, three counts of stealing a motor vehicle to use without the consent of the owner, stealing a motor vehicle, nine counts of gaining a benefit by fraud and aggravated home burglary and commit.

He was due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

A 28-year-old Bentley man, a 22-year-old Balcatta woman and a 20-year-old Glendalough woman have each been charged with one count of aggravated armed robbery.

They were due to appear in the Joondalup Magistrates Court today.
